Palatine Growth Credit has provided Beauhurst with £7 million of growth credit to support the company's expansion across Europe. Palatine announced the financing on 7 May 2026.
Beauhurst will use the money to press on with that expansion. Palatine said the facility will support the company's aim to become Europe's leading provider of private markets data. Expansion into Ireland is under way, with France, Spain and Italy expected to follow. Palatine said Beauhurst already has full coverage of five million companies in Germany.
Beauhurst sells intelligence on private companies. Founded in 2010 by Toby Austin and Stephen Bence, it is based in Nottingham, London and Berlin and employs more than 100 people. Its platform is used by major UK banks, Big Four advisory firms, legal firms and government departments. The company launched in Germany in March 2025, when it reported coverage of 2.8 million active private companies there.
Austin, founder and chief executive, said the funding marked a milestone as Beauhurst accelerated its European expansion. "Our goal is to make high-quality, decision-grade data on every private company accessible and actionable. With Palatine's support, we're well positioned to scale that aim internationally."
Michael Ginn, investment director at Palatine Growth Credit, said he had used Beauhurst for several years and had seen the value of the depth and accuracy of the data when sourcing and researching transactions. William Chappel, managing partner, said the company fitted the Growth Credit fund. Existing backers include angel investor Charlie Songhurst and Berggruen Holdings.
Palatine Growth Credit raised its maiden fund in 2024 to lend to established technology companies in the UK regions without founders having to surrender further equity. The fund reached a £75 million first close in February 2024, with commitments from British Business Investments, a subsidiary of the British Business Bank, and local authority pension funds. Palatine held a final close in May 2024 and has since described the vehicle as an £81 million fund.
At the Beauhurst announcement the lender said the fund had supported a dozen companies. Palatine Growth Credit sits within the Palatine Group, the Manchester private equity firm founded in 2005, alongside the group's buyout and impact funds. The firm is headquartered in Manchester and has offices in London and Birmingham.
