Italian cybersecurity company Exein has expanded its existing revolving credit facility led by J.P. Morgan, with Germany’s KfW joining as an additional lender. The size of the facility and the upsizing were not disclosed.

The debt announcement came alongside a $270 million equity round at a $1.7 billion valuation, led by Headline, with Sofina, Goldman Sachs, the European Investment Bank Group through the European Tech Champions Initiative, KfW Capital, T.Capital and existing backers also participating. Exein said the capital will support expansion in the United States and Asia-Pacific, including further US hiring and a planned San Francisco Bay Area office, as well as continued M&A.

Rome-based Exein builds runtime cybersecurity for connected devices and Physical AI systems, spanning industrial automation, automotive, energy, healthcare, semiconductors, aerospace and robotics. The company says its technology is deployed across more than two billion connected devices, with about half of revenue coming from Asia-Pacific.

In December 2025 Exein raised €100 million that included equity and a financing facility arranged by J.P. Morgan, taking its 2025 fundraising to €170 million after an earlier Series C. Founder and Chief Executive Gianni Cuozzo said the latest raise is aimed at machine-time security as AI moves into physical systems.

J.P. Morgan leads the revolving credit facility. KfW joins the lender group on the upsizing; KfW Capital’s participation in the equity round is separate.
