Funds managed by Ares Management Corporation, InnoVen Capital, January Capital Growth Credit and Abound Capital have provided Silicon Box with a S$100 million debt facility. The Singapore company announced the financing on 8 June 2026 and said the facility includes an option to upsize by a further $75 million.

Silicon Box, led by Co-founder and Chief Executive Byung Joon Han, said the proceeds will be used for capacity expansion. The company provides advanced semiconductor packaging and chiplet integration and said it had shipped more than 250 million units from its Singapore plant as of the first quarter of 2026.

Han said access to flexible funding is critical in semiconductor manufacturing. "The proceeds will be deployed for capacity expansion to meet the rapidly growing market demand," he said. "This financing enhances our capital base while minimising shareholder dilution."

Dinesh Goel, Partner at Ares, said the company had demonstrated strong execution in advanced packaging. "We believe that Silicon Box is well-positioned to scale globally, and this financing reflects our confidence in the management team and the long-term growth outlook for advanced packaging."

The facility follows a recently completed $150 million Series B2 equity round. DealStreetAsia reported on 4 May that EDBI, the investment arm of Singapore's Economic Development Board, had joined the cap table. Silicon Box was founded in 2021 by Han, Dr Sehat Sutardja and Weili Dai.

Ares, a New York-listed alternative investment manager, reported more than $644 billion of assets under management as of 31 March 2026. Goel is Partner and Co-Head of Asia Special Situations in the Ares Credit Group and a member of the firm's Asia Direct Lending and Ares Credit Asia Pacific investment committees.

InnoVen Capital is a joint venture between Seviora, a wholly owned Temasek subsidiary, and United Overseas Bank. Established in 2015, the firm provides debt to venture-backed technology companies in Southeast Asia, China and India and said it has invested more than $1.9 billion across more than 770 transactions.

January Capital is a Singapore-headquartered firm that invests in early-stage venture equity and growth-stage credit. Its Growth Credit Fund reached a final close of more than $130 million on 15 December 2025. At the time the firm said the fund had already provided growth credit to five companies in the region and had signed term sheets for a further five transactions expected to close in the first quarter of 2026. The fund typically provides financing of around $10 million to $20 million.

Abound Capital is a Singapore private credit and venture debt firm that provides growth funding to early and growth-stage companies in Southeast Asia.

Clifford Chance advised the lenders. Partner Chin Seng Chew and Associate Ivan Ting acted for Ares, supported by a team including Partners Shaun Langhorne, Jamie McLaren and Kabir Singh.
