Taaleri Private Credit, the new Nordic direct lending business from Nasdaq Helsinki-listed investment firm Taaleri, will begin operations on 2 November 2026 led by Marjo Koivisto and Helen Taflin, who both previously held positions at P Capital Partners.
Koivisto joins Taaleri as managing director and will head Taaleri Private Credit. She has previously held leadership positions at the World Economic Forum, Danske Bank, Aktia and P Capital Partners, with a background in private credit investments across the Nordic and wider global markets, alternative investment management and business development.
Taflin joins Taaleri Private Credit as head of investments. She has held senior positions at P Capital Partners, Almi Invest Greentech and Lagercrantz Group, with experience across private debt, venture capital and private equity transactions in Europe, as well as portfolio management and fundraising.
Ilkka Laurila, chief executive of Taaleri, said, "Marjo and Helen's strong track record from working together and broad experiences in private markets gives us an excellent foundation to build on."
The business will start with a two-person team supported by a network of senior industry advisers, with both the team and the advisory network expected to grow over time. Christian Reiner, who has more than 20 years of experience in European private credit and fixed income, and Antti Salmela, investment director at Taaleri Investments and a buyout investor, will advise the team.
Taaleri said in April 2026 that it was establishing a dedicated private credit business focused primarily on direct lending for small and mid-sized companies in the Nordics and neighbouring countries. Taaleri said its first private credit fund would seek to provide flexible, non-dilutive financing through structured debt capital solutions where bank financing is not available. Taaleri cited tightening bank regulation and increasing demand for alternative financing, and described the Nordic market as relatively underserved. The size of the first fund has not been disclosed.
Taaleri has EUR 2.7bn of assets under management, employs about 140 people, and its other businesses include renewable energy, real estate and venture capital fund management and credit risk insurer Garantia.
