Trinity Capital has provided an equipment financing commitment to LuxWall to support manufacturing expansion and increase production capacity.
The size of the facility was not disclosed.
LuxWall, based in Ypsilanti, Michigan, develops and manufactures Transparent Insulation, a vacuum insulation product for residential and commercial buildings. The company said the product is designed to improve building energy performance by reducing heating and cooling losses through windows, and that its slim profile can be fitted into many existing frames. Founder and Chief Executive Scott Thomsen said the financing lets LuxWall expand production and take the technology into more buildings.
LuxWall already manufactures the product at a plant in Litchfield, Michigan, and is constructing a second plant in Detroit. The company said the insulation is aimed at offices, multifamily housing, university campuses, healthcare systems, retail locations and public-sector buildings.
Ryan Little, Senior Managing Director, Equipment Finance at Trinity, said the firm had been impressed by the LuxWall team and its technology, and would support the company as it scales and brings the product to more of the market.
The equipment financing follows a $51 million Series B in October 2024, led by Climate Investment and Barclays Sustainable Impact Capital. Carbon Equity and The Nature Conservancy participated alongside existing investors Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Prelude Ventures, 2150, Khosla Ventures and Baruch Future Ventures. LuxWall said that round was intended to scale production at the then newly opened Litchfield factory, enable construction of the Detroit plant and grow research and development at its Ypsilanti centre. Alongside the Series B, the company received a $31.7 million US Department of Energy Manufacturing Efficiency and Supply Chain grant to support the Detroit facility.
That raise followed a $33 million Series A in January 2023, led by 2150 with participation from Khosla Ventures and existing backers Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Prelude Ventures, after a $6 million seed in 2021.
Trinity, the Phoenix lender listed on the New York Stock Exchange, sources and structures investments across five lending verticals: Tech Lending, Equipment Finance, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Sponsor Finance and Asset Based Lending. The LuxWall commitment sits in the Equipment Finance vertical. Trinity has deployed more than $6.2 billion across more than 490 investments since 2008, as of 30 June 2026.
