Scotiabank and its wholly-owned subsidiary Roynat Capital led new senior debt and commercial banking facilities for Mission Control Space Services as part of the company's C$10m financing.

The size of the debt and the split between debt and equity were not disclosed. GreenSky Ventures, a Toronto venture firm, led the equity investment, with new strategic investors joining.

Proceeds will be used to expand research and development capabilities, rover design and production facilities, and operations staff. Mission Control said the funding would help it take on larger, more complex missions.

Matt Tedford, senior vice-president and head of Roynat Capital, said: "We're pleased to support Mission Control's next stage of growth with financing and banking solutions that help them compete for more opportunities."

Mission Control is a space technology company specialising in rovers, autonomy and mission operations. Its Spacefarer software is used on multiple lunar missions.

The company has expanded its Ottawa headquarters with R&D space, flight hardware assembly, integration and testing, upgraded clean rooms and a Mission Operations Centre for lunar and deep-space missions. It has also opened a rover prototyping facility in St. Marys, Ontario.

In July 2025, the Canadian Space Agency awarded Mission Control one of three 18-month concept study contracts for the Lunar Utility Rover, worth C$4.7m. GreenSky Ventures also led Mission Control's C$3.25m seed round in 2023.
