Gradion Capital has launched as a growth debt provider for lower mid-market businesses in the UK and Ireland, with tickets of £5 million to £30 million. Founding partner Greg Beamish set out the mandate in a LinkedIn post on 28 July 2026.

Beamish said Gradion will look for UK and Irish companies with £1.5 million or more of EBITDA and established management teams. The lender is sector agnostic but with a focus on technology, business and professional services, and healthcare.

He said Gradion will provide non-dilutive growth capital structured around the company, rather than a standard credit process, and stay alongside management as the business grows.

Two Arena Investors, LP executives have acted as directors for Gradion from day one; Pablo Fraga, Managing Director for European Private Investments at Arena Investors LP, and Eamonn McInerney, Head of European Asset Management at Arena.

Fraga and McInerney are both directors of UK lenders Pulse Finance and All Capital, whilst Arena Investors, LP also announced a partnership with growth credit investor Nighthawk Partners in 2025, underscoring Arena’s strategy as an institutional capital provider behind specialist debt providers in the UK.

Before Gradion Beamish was chief credit officer at ThinCats from January 2018 to April 2026, according to his LinkedIn profile. Alternative Credit Investor reported the appointment as head of credit in June 2018. ThinCats lends to mid-sized UK SMEs. Shawbrook Group completed its acquisition of the firm on 30 September 2025.

He posted on 28 May 2026 that he had recently left ThinCats after eight years and wished the business well "in the new chapter with Shawbrook".

Before ThinCats he was a managing director at ESO Capital from 2013 to 2017. Earlier he worked at Sun Capital Partners and Barings.
