Claret Capital Partners has reached a second close of more than €350 million on Claret European Growth Capital Fund IV. The firm also raised more than €115 million of discretionary co-investment partnerships with Fund IV limited partners, taking assets under management past $1 billion.
Managing Partner Johan Kampe said the close had already surpassed the size of Fund III. A final close is slated for 2026.
Fund IV lends to European companies in technology, life sciences and climate tech. Since March 2025 the firm has added 12 companies to the portfolio, including Fund Recs, Mindler, Montonio, PRODA, SIDES, ValueBlue and Yseop.
Named limited partners are Banca March, an unnamed Canadian pension fund, an unnamed German foundation, the British Business Bank, the European Investment Fund under InvestEU, the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, KfW Capital and Wachstumsfonds Deutschland. Nick Ashmore, Director at ISIF, said the fund’s €30 million ticket is its second commitment to Claret, after €15 million into Fund III in 2022.
Part of the second close came through an ELTIF sleeve used to bring in private wealth. IQ-EQ acts as alternative investment fund manager to both the ELTIF and the institutional vehicles. Banca March said it had renewed its partnership by launching an ELTIF structured for the bank and its clients.
Claret, led by Managing Partners David Bateman and Kampe, is an FCA-regulated growth debt manager founded in 2013. At the second close it said it had deployed more than €1.2 billion to more than 190 companies.
